Founded in 2009, Dirty Loops is a Swedish band from Stockholm, which initially covered famous pop hits such as Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" or Britney Spears' "Circus". Jonah Nilsson (vocals, keyboards), Henrik Linder (bass) and Aron Mellergårdh (drums) are quite young but very talented. They make their music with a unique sound, mainly using jazz and funk approaches. Their first album, Loopified, was released in April 2014 with 12 songs, 10 of which are completely self-produced. The band will perform on August 4th at the Main Stage of the Paloznak Jazz Picnic at 7:30 p.m.

Absolutely.

We kind of like most audiences we played for, we like the unique experience every gig offers. But when people are louder it usually nicer.
Do you have your favorite performing clothes?
All of us have some favourite clothes to wear, we usually wanna wear something that not too uncomfortable to move in.
Do you choose the clothes for each performance or someone helps?
We pick our clothes ourselves, we are big boys now :)
Do you already know what colors you're going to wear at Jazzpiknik?
Not yet, we'll probably bring some different things to chose from.
Which is your most memorable performance?
Our first one is always gonna be the most memorable, not because it was particularly great, but because it started everything.
What was your most unpleasant experience at a performance?
Being a support act for a DJ and getting booed for 45 minutes kind of humbles you a bit :)
Is there someone or something that usually inspires you?
Trying out new things not knowing if they'll fail or not is always inspiring.

Aron: Dirty Loops plays fusion music, what does that look like for the drums? Is it difficult to follow the rhythmic changes in musical styles in one song?
Some stuff is harder than others, but since I write those parts they're absolutely doable

Jonah: When I watch you in videos, I can see a little Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury, Mick Jagger, Bruno Mars and New Kids On The Block Jordan in you, is that maybe a correct perception?
Some of them, especially Michael Jackson has been an influence on me.

Henrik: If I look at you in videos, I can see a little The Cure, The Prodigy and Boy George in you, what do you think about that?
I always wanted to look like Boy George.
Do you have any other music formations separately? What kind of styles you play in that?
We have some other projects, it could vary pretty much in different projects. We're kind of all eaters musically.
Which is your favourite Dirty Loops song?
Usually whatever is the newest that feels new and exciting to play.
Where did the name Dirty Loops come from?
A friend wrote a bunch of band names on a paper and we picked the top one, as it sounded funny :)
